6 of us girls stayed at this hotel and I must say their service was almost flawless. Amazing service and perfect location - right smack in the middle of the liveliest area! We had 2 rooms - one room had problems with the AC one day but was fixed by the time we arrived back at the hotel in the afternoon. The only other complaint is when we asked for a cab we got a shuttle bus instead where if we took a cab it would have costed us $32 in total as opposed to $10 each. I think the doorman/luggage helper person was doing the shuttle bus a favor by having us pay $10 each rather than saving us $. He confirmed it was a taxi but it wasn't a taxi - it was a shuttle bus so make sure you speak to someone infront desk not the guy that helps you with your luggage. Other than that i must say i would come back here in a heartbeat! Terrific awesome time!
Perfect Location
I love staying at The Beacon! My mother and I were most recently there after a March cruise. Front Desk and attendant were very accomodating. Perfect room. Everything is freshly updated. Wonderful breakfast (with the friendliest staff). Enjoyed watching the street and beach activity from our Ocean Front room. All was delightful and we can't wait to stay there again next year!!
This Place Grows On You!
Just got home from a week at The Beacon. This hotel sure grew on me! But let's call it like it is. This is an older hotel on a street lined with older hotels, and the rooms are reflective of the era during which they were built....they are smallish, the bathrooms are small with little shelf space, the A/C is "window style", the elevator is small, and there is not much storage in the room. If you are not a hotel snob and can accept that reality, this is one of my favorite hotels I have stayed in! The staff is all incredibly friendly. The beach chairs and towels provided in the room is a very nice touch. The room was very clean, and the bed and linens are first class. The "continental breakfast" is a very comprehensive menu of omelettes, eggs, waffles, etc. the setting is vibrant and lively. Valet parking (you are better off without a car!) was a very realistic $20 - allow 15 minutes for your car to show up. And the location is simply amazing. No, the Beacon is NOT the W. But if you are looking for an authentic South Beach hotel with clean accommodations and a friendly staff, put this one on list to inquire about. The restaurant next door, "A Fish Called Avalon" is unbelievable. Ate dinner there twice!
Awesome
Had a great stay at Beacon hotel for spring break. Very nice staff, clean rooms and right across from the beach and shopping centers. great restaurant. Enjoyed staying there,
Great Fun On South Beach
The Beacon hotel is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in the middle of all the action. We stayed March10,2012. Having trouble parking in front of
the hotel to check in, we were greeted by a valet who took our vehicle and parked right out front for us to get our luggage. Traffic is really bad. The front desk was accommodating, answering questions and recommending restaurants and clubs for a night of fun. Our room was on an upper floor, king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice, updated and clean. We received a complimentary breakfast that was delicious. The beautiful beach is just across the street for a day in the sun or a romantic walk on the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience the excitement of South Beach.
Ideal for South Beach Fun
The Beacon is perfectly positioned to be at the heart of all the Ocean Drive fun and frolics and offers a stylish retreat at the end of the day (or night!). Very impressed by the hard-working service staff, especially the valets, who made light of the seemingly interminable Ocean Drive traffic. Great spot for breakfast, too!
Room Tip: For the best night's sleep, try to get on one of the top two floors - South Beach CAN be noisy!
This was the second stay that we have had at the Beacon. We were given a very nice suite on the front of the building Being spring break it was a little noisy but it really didn't affect our sleep at all. Everything was very comfortable. As always the staff is very helpful and courteous. We highly recommend it and look forward to a third visit.
Great stay at The Beacon
Our family of 3 stayed at The Beacon after a cruise for 2 nights on March 10/2012. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. and were pleasantly greeted, our luggage stored, and given beach towels to spend some time at the beach while our room was being prepared. The hotel was very busy and we were always given good customer service. Our room was on the 4th floor and was quiet, very clean, well airconditioned, and larger than I expected. Breakfast was also good. Only inconvenience was finding the ice machine.
Out of this World
Amazing experience. Nice hotel. Very clean. Great staff. Bar in the lobby. Right in the middle of South Beach. If you plan to sleep do not come here. I did not plan to sleep because it was during my spring break so I was very satisfied.
Excellent hotel all round!
My partner and I stayed at the Beacon in March 2012 and loved every aspect of it. i would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit South Beach.
The staff is outstanding, the complimentary breakfast options are glorious and the location is hard to beat. A jewel among Ocean Drive hotels.
